Classical music greatest composers

We’ll look at three classical compsers/ piano players who heavily influenced classical music.

Ludwig Van Beethoven. Famous more for the fact he composed, Beethoven wrote and performed music while being deaf in his later 20s with the use of a sound rod to feel the vibrations. Born in 1770, Beethoven followed in his grandfather and father’s footsteps working in the court of the Elector of Cologne. His move to study the violin and counterpoint in Vienna in 1792 was funded by the Elector. Beethoven started to loss his hearing in 1796 in his twenties, which has been speculated to be the result of lead posioning, due to its high volume of use. Beethoven’s work is usually divided into three different parts- the early, middle and later periods. The early period lasted until 1806, the middle period went from 1803 to 1814 and the later period went from 1815 until his death.

Wolfgang Mozart. Born in 1756, Mozart is considered one of the greast in classical music, having also wrote over 600 pieces of music. Mozart ws a child prodigy, composing from the age of 5 and playing to royalty and at seventeen he was employed as court musician in Salzburg. When he visited Vienna is decided to stay there -and this is the city where he became famous, but not rich by any means. Mozart suffered from Rheumatic fever, which is what was believed to have killed him in 1791.

Johann Bach. Bach was born in Germany in March 1685 and was a composer and organist, influential in the Baroque period and helping to bring the period to maturity. Bach’s talent for composing was only really acknowledged during the 19th century after renewed interest in his work. He was only credited as a talented organist during his lifetime. Bach was an orphan at 10 years old and went to live with his brother, who was also a musician -most of Bach’s family were. It is from his brother that Bach received more instruction on playing, and became fluent on the Clavicord. Two Bach’s children from his first marriage were influential in the Rococo style that later followed Barquoe: Wilhem and Carl. Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Cöthen hired Bach to serve as his director of music in 1717 until 1723, during which time his first wife died in 1720, and he remarried in December 1721. Bach was apointed as the Cantor of Thomasschule in 1723, which was a posistion he held upto his death after eye surgery in 1750.
